Our local utility in Austin offers a free Weatherization Assistance Program for home energy improvements to qualifying customers with low to moderate incomes. These improvements can save you money on monthly electric bills, improve indoor air quality, and make your home healthier and more comfortable. Now Offering a Rebate and Loan for the Purchase of a New Air Conditioning System
For customers who participate in the free weatherization program in Austin, our local utility is now offering a rebate and 0% financing for up to 10 years on a new air conditioning system! Please talk with your utility inspector or us during the assessment, if you are interested in rebates and financing for a new air conditioning system.
Prerequisites
You must be a Customer with our local utility in Austin.
Eligible households must have an annual income that is no greater than the income levels shown by household size below.

3 Person Household $79,450
4 Person Household $88,250
5 Person Household $95,350
6 Person Household $102,400
7 Person Household $109,450
8 Person Household $116,500

General Requirements

You must live in the house you want weatherized.

You must live in a single-family home, duplex, triplex, fourplex, or mobile home.

The home improvement value must be $437,000 or less (excluding land value).

Your home must be 2,500 square feet or smaller.

Your home must be more than 10 years old.

The home must not have participated in the Weatherization Assistance Program or the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program within the last 10 years.

You must submit the Weatherization Assistance Program Application or en español: Solicitud del programa de asistencia de climatización.

Both owners and renters can apply. If you rent, your landlord must sign the Landlord Permission Form / Formulario de permiso del arrendador (pdf).
